Instructions to root and install rom cook for Note 10 / 10+. To root and install rom cook for note 10 and note 10+ we need to prepare the following materials: stock ROM, ROM cook, Magisk, Odin, Samsung Driver, USB OTG, OEM unlocking.

Prepare

Install Samsung Driver on the computer and copy ROM cook to usb OTG

Proceed to Root

OEM unlocking

  • Go to settings – Phone information – Software information
  • Type 7 times in the Build number to enable developer mode. Done back out 2 times
  • Go to Developer settings – Turn ON OEM
  • Turn off the phone completely
  • Hold down the Volume Up & then Press Volume Down (Keep holding both) keys and connect the cable to the PC
  • A blue screen appears “Long press Volume Up to unlock bootloader”
  • Press and hold Volume Up to unlock the bootloader (All data will be deleted and the machine will automatically boot)
  • Wait for the phone to boot up and the setup is complete, go back to the ferry development settings and see if the OEM is enabled (if the bootloader unlock is ok, it will appear gray)

Install TWRP with Odin

  • Turn off the device completely
  • Press and hold Volume Up & then Press Volume Down (Keep holding both) simultaneously and connect the cable to the PC – a blue screen appears.
  • Click Vol Up to enter DownloadMod
  • Open Odin on PC
  • Options tab uncheck Auto reboot
  • The AP tab finds the downloaded Twrp file
  • Press START and wait for the green PASS to appear, odin twrp is successful
  • Remove the cable and restart Note 10 by: Press and hold Vol down + Side key, when the screen turns off, quickly press and save 3 Volume Up + Side Key keys for about 10 seconds to boot into TWRP
  • When Note 10 boots into TWRP, plug in the USB OTG
  • Format data for TWRP to receive device memory and OTG: Choose WIPE – FORMAT DATA, type YES
  • After finishing Wipe – Advance Wipe – select the items as shown
  • After successful wipe, proceed to Flash Rom Cook or Flash Magisk to complete the rooting process.

Flash Magisk in case of using stock root

Prepare

  • Download stock ROM
  • Unzip, copy the file AP.tar.md5 to your phone
  • Install Magisk Manager on your phone
  • Open Magisk Manager – Magisk (first one) – Install – select to “Select and Patch file” – Navigate file you have copied to device (AP_ [device_model_sw_ver] .tar.md5)
  • Magisk Manager will patch the whole firmware file and store the output to [Internal Storage] / Download /magisk_patched.tar
  • Copy patched file magisk_patched.tar to Your PC

Conduct flash with Odin

  • Shut down and boot into Download as Instructions above, press Vol up to continue
  • Open Odin, select the magisk_patched.tar file above into the AP Tab on Odin
  • Select BL, CP and CSC file (extracted above) corresponding to Odin items (It is important not to flash each magisk_patched.tar file)
  • In Odin option, uncheck the Auto Reboot option
  • Click Start and wait until the flash is complete. When Odin reports the pass, then disconnect the device
  • Magisk flash is done, you have to follow the steps below

Factory reset & Boot with magisk

  • After disconnecting from Odin: press and hold the Vol down + Side key to exit download mode
  • Important, right after the machine reboots, quickly press Volume Up + Side Key to boot into recovery. Continue pressing volume up until you see the recovery screen
  • In the stock recovery menu, use the volume buttons to move the menu, and use the power button to select. Select Wipe data / factory reset to wipe all data in the device
  • Select Reboot system now, and immediately press Volume Up + Side Key. After seeing the bootloader warning screen, remove all the keys to let the phone boot again
  • The phone will automatically reboot several times
  • If you don’t see magisk in the app list, install the Magisk Manager manual
  • Magisk updates itself to the latest version & reboots the device
