At the “Far out” event, Apple announced the Apple Watch SE 2 series with a screen 30% larger than the previous model.
Color options include Silver, Midnight, and Starlight along with a synthetic nylon back
The Apple Watch SE has a “Crash Detection” feature to detect car accidents like on the Series 8.
Apple also upgraded the new S8 chip on the Apple Watch SE 2022 – delivering 20% more performance than the previous generation SE.
Apple Watch SE in general has not changed in terms of exterior design, except for the new color
Note that the Apple Watch SE does not have the Always On Display feature like the Series 8 nor does it have a temperature sensor
The first-generation Apple Watch SE, launched two years ago (in 2020), was designed to be a low-cost smartwatch alongside the Apple Watch Series 6 – but with better specs than the Series 3.
For the new Apple Watch SE 2, although it does not change in design, it is upgraded in hardware, better chipset, 20% faster processing ability than its predecessor.
In terms of software, this device comes with the Electrocardiogram and Blood Oxygen application from the high-end Apple Watch model to focus on supporting health.
