Apple officially launched the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus with the same design but fresh colors. The presence of the 6.7-inch large-screen iPhone 14 Plus is remarkable

Apple has officially launched the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, but this product line will not be the “next generation” that you often think of.

The two versions of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus retain most of the design of the iPhone 13 – including the notch for the phone’s selfie camera and the Face ID sensor.

At first glance, the iPhone 14 looks very similar to the 13, with the same flat screen and square bezel

Screen – didn’t change much

iPhone 14 with 6.1 inch screen and iPhone 14 Plus with 6.7 inch screen.
The screen of the iphone 14 uses an OLED panel with a brightness of 1200 nits (brighter), a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, supports Dolby Vision as well as Apple uses a sturdy Ceramic Shield glass.
There will still be a Notch section like on the previous iPhone 13

The A15 chip adds more CPU and GPU cores

Apple uses A15 Bionic chip but upgrades to 5 GPU cores for superior GPU performance,
take care of better game graphics.
The CPU of the new A15 has 6 cores. Apple does not detail how the A15 Bionic’s performance is

The Neural Engine processor on the A15 Bionic has 16 cores and can perform 15.8 trillion calculations per second.

The battery

iPhone 14 Plus has a total battery life of 26 hours of video playback and 20 hours of video playback on iPhone 14.

iPhone 14 series is equipped with MagSafe charger.

Camera

Apple equips its own custom ISP image processing chip to help iPhone 14 upgrade quite significantly in terms of camera.
In terms of cameras, the iPhone 14 has a 12MP main camera with a larger sensor and larger f/1.5 aperture,
added sensor anti-shake feature (Sensor-Shift). The other camera is super wide-angle, 12MP, f/2.4 . aperture

The front camera of the iPhone 14 has a resolution of 12MP with Autofocus as well as an aperture of f/1.9 for better low-light photography.

iPhone 14 improves night photography by 49%: With a larger sensor and a newly upgraded lens, iPhone 14 delivers less noise and more detailed night shots at night or in low light at school.

Photonic Engine

When taking a photo, the iPhone 14 camera will apply the Deep Fusion feature faster and sooner, as well as apply actions such as noise reduction, white balance, light reproduction.
for the most detailed, beautiful photos – Apple calls it the Photonic Engine feature.
This feature works also thanks to the A15 Bionic chip.
With Photonic Engine, Apple compares the iPhone 14’s cameras in low light with the iPhone 13

  • The main camera takes 2.5 times better low-light shots
  • Front camera and ultrawide camera are 2 times better in low light

Apple introduces an Action Mode feature when recording video to help the frame be more stable, without shaking, like gimbal anti-shake.
We can also shoot Cinematic video in 4K 30fps and 24fps quality.

Connectivity & safety features

The iPhone 14 series is equipped with faster eSIM network switching function, saving more eSIM.
In addition, the iPhone 14 series in the US market completely uses eSIM and removes the physical SIM card slot.
The iPhone 14 comes with collision detection similar to the Apple Watch Series 8.

Satellite connection

iPhone 14 without Wi-Fi, no cellular network, can still be contacted thanks to its ability to connect to satellite waves.
This new change makes it possible for users who are in an out-of-network area to make emergency contact with SOS rescue parties.
from which rescuers can also locate the person in distress with the iPhone 14.

iPhone 14, when equipped with satellite wave feature, can communicate with satellites from which satellites will send information back to emergency information stations (SOS) in a timely manner.
Apple uses satellite navigation by pointing the iPhone in the direction of the satellite for the fastest and most stable connection.
That is also the reason that Apple does not need to equip large and long antennas like on old mobile phones before.

In the new Emergency SOS section of iPhone 14, Apple allows users to select accident items for users to send urgently (what happened, how, …).
The satellite connection feature will be deployed by Apple for 2 years for free when buying iPhone 14 and has only been deployed in the US and Canada.

The standard iPhone 14 model starts at $799 and the 14 Plus model starts at $899.
The two models will be available to order from September 9.
